Day 1 (Sunday)  

  • Welcome to Italia! Meet your guide at 1pm and enjoy a comfortable ride in our private vehicle from Rome’s Fiumicino Airport directly to Ascoli Piceno. No need to wait for buses or taxis, just hop on with your guide and arrive directly at your hotel. Enjoy the scenery of the National Park on the way or simply nap to recover from your jet lag!
  • Arrive to Ascoli Piceno in the late afternoon and settle into your home for the duration of your stay. Your Hotel is immersed in nature, located a few minutes’ drive from the historical centre of Ascoli Piceno, making it the perfect location to relax and enjoy an evening passeggiata (also known as a walk or scroll)
  • Every evening you will have the opportunity to explore and have dinner will be on your own. You will have the choice to eat at your hotel which houses a superb Michelin-rated restaurant trained in the preparation of gluten-free dining for Celiacs and is certified by the AIC (Italy’s National Celiac Organization) or you can head into the historic centre of town to try of the AIC’s certified gluten-free establishments.

 

Day 2 (Monday)

  • Every day will begin with a delicious breakfast made with local products served at your hotel, complete with your morning espresso.
  • Today we will make our way to a 17thcentury Villa and Agriturismo perched on the hills surrounding Ascoli Piceno.
  • You will meet an amazing local Chef and Cooking instructor for a private cooking class in a 300-year-old family-run kitchen. Imagine if these walls could talk! They would unleash a history of cooking secrets that could write the pages of a 1,000 cookbooks.
  • For Lunch we will enjoy the fruits of our labour and dine on a meal made with local and organic ingredients. Many of these ingredients have been grown onsite at the Villa’s garden. This is zero kilometer, gluten-free dining in Italy at its best!
  • After a leisurely lunch and cooking class we will head out to the local travertine quarry. Here you will discover how travertine and marble were used to create beautiful masterpieces, including Ascoli’s famous town square, Piazza del Popolo, which is considered one the most beautiful in all of Italy!
  • We will return to your hotel in the late afternoon. Every evening on your tour will be free. Take some time to relax, dine at your hotel’s Michelin-rated, gluten-free certified restaurant, or explore the cobblestone streets by night and try one of Ascoli’s certified gluten-free restaurants or pizzerias.

 

Day 3 (Tuesday) 

  • Today we are headed to Fermo, a hill-top city situated close to the water with stunning 360 degree views of the surrounding valleys.
  • Enter into the depths of this city and step inside one of Italy’s best kept Roman aqueducts, built over 2,000 years ago and recently restored to its former glory. Discover the life blood of this ancient city and find out how the water was stored and transported throughout during ancient Roman times.
  • After we will make our way across town to visit an historical Italian theatre, “Teatro dell’Aquila”, considered to have one of the most acclaimed acoustic experiences in the country. Built in 1760 this theatre has been the epicentre of Marche’s culture for over 200 years and was fully restored in 1997.
  • Today’s lunch will be at a locally renowned Agriturismo set in the countryside surrounding the beautiful medieval town of Fermo.
  • Giovanni will guide you through the seasonal menu offering you suggestions based on his personal favourites and knowledge as Sommelier.
  • We will head back to Ascoli Piceno in the late afternoon. Your evening is free for you to dine at your hotel or try one of Ascoli’s certified gluten-free establishments.

 

Day 4 (Wednesday)

  • Wax poetic and retrace the steps of one of Italy’s most famous poets. Today we will travel to Recanati the home and birthplace of Giacomo Leopardi.
  • After exploring the city on foot we will recharge with some local fare including Gluten free and organic pizza! A must try for any GF foodie and pizza lover alike!
  • Next stop is wine country. Sip, savour, and drink in some local history at a family-run winery immersed in the green rolling hills of Verdicchio vines.
  • In the late afternoon we will return to your hotel where you can relax, take a walk in the countryside and maybe be inspired to write some poetry yourself. The rest of your evening is free.

 

Day 5 (Thursday) 

  • Today we will have an early start and make our way to the underground caves of Osimo. Discover the caves which were once used in the initiation to the Knights of the Templar, and learn for this underground city protected the locals for centuries.
  • After we will take a break for lunch at a favourite restaurant of the locals. Here you will dine gluten-free, seafood style in this hidden gem located just outside the centre of town.
  • In the afternoon, we will head out to a nearby town, Camerano, also famous for its subterranean. After our visit, and an afternoon stop for an obligatory gelato, we will leisurely make our way back to Ascoli Piceno.
  • You will have the evening free. Now’s the perfect time to head out for a “passeggiata” or grab an evening aperitivo in the splendid gardens of your hotel. 

 

Day 6 (Friday)

  • This morning we will travel to Offida, a magnificent medieval borgo that was voted one of the most beautiful in Italy. Walk the streets of this medieval beauty and be transported back in time.
  • From Offida we will make our way to a fantastic Agriturismo, a favourite of our Co-founder, and your resident G-Free foodie, Chantelle.
  • Enjoy a hearty meal of traditional rustic cuisine in preparation for an afternoon of wine tasting. Relax, come with an empty stomach, and safely indulge in everything from gluten-free pastas to local specialties that are in season and full of flavour.
  • Next stop the original purveyor of pecorino wines. Learn about the story of this family-run winery and experience the passion of three-generations of women working together to share their love of the land through their award-winning wines.
  • In the early evening we will head back to Ascoli. Now is the time to relax and take some time for yourself after a hard day of eating delicious gluten-free cuisine and sipping vintages in the heart of Italy’s wine country.

 

Day 7 (Saturday)

  • After a final breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to Ascoli Piceno and your new found friends and local community. We will accompany you to Ascoli Piceno’s train or bus station. Your time with us may be over, but we hope this is only goodbye for now or as the Italians say “Ci vediamo”! Until next time “Arrivederci”!

GETTING THERE

All our tours start at Rome’s Fiumicino airport.  Here you will meet your guide at 1 pm before embarking on your journey to Ascoli Piceno.*

The nearest train station and bus station are located in Ascoli Piceno. Transfer from your hotel to Ascoli Piceno’s train and bus stations  is included on the day you depart from our tours.  

If your arrival or departure does not coincide with the meeting and departure times stated above we can assist you in booking a private transfer at an additional cost. Please contact us directly to and we will gladly help you find the best transfer to suit your travel needs.  

If you are connecting to or from another part of Italy we are also happy to assist you in planning your pre and post trip connections. We have the insider knowledge and on the ground support to ensure you find the best option available to arrive or depart from your tour.

Day 1 (Sunday)  

  • Welcome to Italia! Meet your guide at 1pm and enjoy a comfortable ride in our private vehicle from Rome’s Fiumicino Airport directly to Ascoli Piceno. No need to wait for buses or taxis, just hop on with your guide and arrive directly at your hotel. Enjoy the scenery of the National Park on the way or simply nap to recover from your jet lag!
  • Arrive to Ascoli Piceno in the late afternoon and settle into your home for the duration of your stay. Your Hotel is immersed in nature, located a few minutes’ drive from the historical centre of Ascoli Piceno, making it the perfect location to relax and enjoy an evening passeggiata (also known as a walk or scroll)
  • Every evening you will have the opportunity to explore and have dinner will be on your own. You will have the choice to eat at your hotel which houses a superb Michelin-rated restaurant trained in the preparation of gluten-free dining for Celiacs and is certified by the AIC (Italy’s National Celiac Organization) or you can head into the historic centre of town to try of the AIC’s certified gluten-free establishments.

Day 2 (Monday)

  • Every day will begin with a delicious breakfast made with local products served at your hotel, complete with your morning espresso.
  • Today we will make our way to a 17thcentury Villa and Agriturismo perched on the hills surrounding Ascoli Piceno.
  • You will meet an amazing local Chef and Cooking instructor for a private cooking class in a 300-year-old family-run kitchen. Imagine if these walls could talk! They would unleash a history of cooking secrets that could write the pages of a 1,000 cookbooks.
  • For Lunch we will enjoy the fruits of our labour and dine on a meal made with local and organic ingredients. Many of these ingredients have been grown onsite at the Villa’s garden. This is zero kilometer, gluten-free dining in Italy at its best!
  • After a leisurely lunch and cooking class we will head out to the local travertine quarry. Here you will discover how travertine and marble were used to create beautiful masterpieces, including Ascoli’s famous town square, Piazza del Popolo, which is considered one the most beautiful in all of Italy!
  • We will return to your hotel in the late afternoon. Every evening on your tour will be free. Take some time to relax, dine at your hotel’s Michelin-rated, gluten-free certified restaurant, or explore the cobblestone streets by night and try one of Ascoli’s certified gluten-free restaurants or pizzerias.

Day 3 (Tuesday) 

  • Today we are headed to Fermo, a hill-top city situated close to the water with stunning 360 degree views of the surrounding valleys.
  • Enter into the depths of this city and step inside one of Italy’s best kept Roman aqueducts, built over 2,000 years ago and recently restored to its former glory. Discover the life blood of this ancient city and find out how the water was stored and transported throughout during ancient Roman times.
  • After we will make our way across town to visit an historical Italian theatre, “Teatro dell’Aquila”, considered to have one of the most acclaimed acoustic experiences in the country. Built in 1760 this theatre has been the epicentre of Marche’s culture for over 200 years and was fully restored in 1997.
  • Today’s lunch will be at a locally renowned Agriturismo set in the countryside surrounding the beautiful medieval town of Fermo.
  • Giovanni will guide you through the seasonal menu offering you suggestions based on his personal favourites and knowledge as Sommelier.
  • We will head back to Ascoli Piceno in the late afternoon. Your evening is free for you to dine at your hotel or try one of Ascoli’s certified gluten-free establishments.

Day 4 (Wednesday)

  • Wax poetic and retrace the steps of one of Italy’s most famous poets. Today we will travel to Recanati the home and birthplace of Giacomo Leopardi.
  • After exploring the city on foot we will recharge with some local fare including Gluten free and organic pizza! A must try for any GF foodie and pizza lover alike!
  • Next stop is wine country. Sip, savour, and drink in some local history at a family-run winery immersed in the green rolling hills of Verdicchio vines.
  • In the late afternoon we will return to your hotel where you can relax, take a walk in the countryside and maybe be inspired to write some poetry yourself. The rest of your evening is free.

Day 5 (Thursday) 

  • Today we will have an early start and make our way to the underground caves of Osimo. Discover the caves which were once used in the initiation to the Knights of the Templar, and learn for this underground city protected the locals for centuries.
  • After we will take a break for lunch at a favourite restaurant of the locals. Here you will dine gluten-free, seafood style in this hidden gem located just outside the centre of town.
  • In the afternoon, we will head out to a nearby town, Camerano, also famous for its subterranean. After our visit, and an afternoon stop for an obligatory gelato, we will leisurely make our way back to Ascoli Piceno.
  • You will have the evening free. Now’s the perfect time to head out for a “passeggiata” or grab an evening aperitivo in the splendid gardens of your hotel. 

Day 6 (Friday)

  • This morning we will travel to Offida, a magnificent medieval borgo that was voted one of the most beautiful in Italy. Walk the streets of this medieval beauty and be transported back in time.
  • From Offida we will make our way to a fantastic Agriturismo, a favourite of our Co-founder, and your resident G-Free foodie, Chantelle.
  • Enjoy a hearty meal of traditional rustic cuisine in preparation for an afternoon of wine tasting. Relax, come with an empty stomach, and safely indulge in everything from gluten-free pastas to local specialties that are in season and full of flavour.
  • Next stop the original purveyor of pecorino wines. Learn about the story of this family-run winery and experience the passion of three-generations of women working together to share their love of the land through their award-winning wines.
  • In the early evening we will head back to Ascoli. Now is the time to relax and take some time for yourself after a hard day of eating delicious gluten-free cuisine and sipping vintages in the heart of Italy’s wine country.

Day 7 (Saturday)

  • After a final breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to Ascoli Piceno and your new found friends and local community. We will accompany you to Ascoli Piceno’s train or bus station. Your time with us may be over, but we hope this is only goodbye for now or as the Italians say “Ci vediamo”! Until next time “Arrivederci”!

GETTING THERE

All our tours start at Rome’s Fiumicino airport.  Here you will meet your guide at 1 pm before embarking on your journey to Ascoli Piceno.*

The nearest train station and bus station are located in Ascoli Piceno. Transfer from your hotel to Ascoli Piceno’s train and bus stations  is included on the day you depart from our tours.  

If your arrival or departure does not coincide with the meeting and departure times stated above we can assist you in booking a private transfer at an additional cost. Please contact us directly to and we will gladly help you find the best transfer to suit your travel needs.  

If you are connecting to or from another part of Italy we are also happy to assist you in planning your pre and post trip connections. We have the insider knowledge and on the ground support to ensure you find the best option available to arrive or depart from your tour.

 

*Please note that all guests arriving on our tours are responsible for ensuring they make it to the meeting point by 1 pm at Rome’s Fiumicino airport.  Those who are unable to make it to the meeting point for the time specified will not be guaranteed a transfer from Rome to Ascoli Piceno and will have to seek other arrangements to participate in the reminder of the tour.  Please see our Terms & Conditions for further details and do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns regarding the latter.
