  • Today our tour will begin with a visit to the original makers of Pecorino wine. Here we will enjoy a private tour of the winery complete with a wine taste and breathtaking view of the vineyards below.
  • Next stop is lunch! Locally grown, in-season ingredients can be found at this Agriturismo.  Refuel your body with homemade pasta and locally-raised meats to repair those muscles from yesterday’s ride.
  • After a leisurely lunch, we will continue our exploration of Italy’s wine country and visit what is considered one of Italy’s most beautiful medieval villages.
  • In the late afternoon, we will return to your hotel and the evening will be free for you to explore.

Day 7 (Saturday) – Length 60km

MOUNTAINS OF THE GIRO D’ITALIA

  • Today’s journey will begin with a very special ride to one of the mountains featured in the Giro d’Italia.
  • Entering Abruzzo, you will experience breathtaking views of the National Park of “Monti della Laga” and a fast descent amidst the oak forests and valley of the Tronto, the local river that crosses Ascoli Piceno.
  • Today’s ride is one of our personal favourites at the Italian on Tour. Practically car-free so you can relax, and enjoy the scenery while venturing into the Italian countryside
  • Return to Ascoli in the late afternoon. The evening will be yours to relax, take stroll, and perfect your “Passeggiata”.

Day 8 (Sunday)

  • After a final breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to Ascoli Piceno and your new-found friends and local biking community. We will accompany you to Ascoli Piceno’s train or bus station. Your biking adventure with us may be over, but we hope this is only goodbye for now or as the Italians say “Ci vediamo”! Until next time “Arrivederci”!

We get you

We are not just locals and experts of authentic Italian vacations, were travellers of Italy too.  We understand what you want to see and experience, and we know the best way to make that happen!

The Gold Standard

We don’t subcontract out meaning everything has been tried, tasted, and tested by us.  If it doesn’t meet our personal Stamp of Approval, it doesn’t make it on our tours.  You can sleep soundly at night knowing you are safe from tourist traps, subpar service, and second rate Italian food.

Unpack Once

Travel Italy at a more leisurely pace. Get to know the city we call home. Relax, drink a glass of wine among friends, and soak up a little of Italy’s “La Dolce Vita”.

Learn from the best

Get to know the people through their stomachs.  Food and culture go hand-in-hand in Italy with recipes being passed down from generation to generation.  We take you to cook with local chefs that still make it the way Nonna does.  Because Nonna knows best, and you want to know her secrets.

Handcrafted Gelato & Espresso, ALWAYS on us!

We do hospitality right.  Whenever you are out on the road with us you never have to reach for your wallet to get that extra cup of coffee or much needed scoop of artisan gelato.

Travel with like-minded individuals

Italian culture is all about conviviality and family and friends, so why would you want to travel this beautiful country alone?  Surround yourself with great people, in a great place. Get inspired and come back renewed from your Italian vacation.
